Android sounds cool, but there's absolutely no android enabled devices yet. Unfortunately, until a large portion of the market is using 'androids', it doesn't help us. Thankfully android is also Java, so the Midp apps will likely all work on an android device anyway.

Indeed, I was discussing this right after posting here and there are two points to consider. On one hand, it maybe yet another OS platform to consider, on the other hand, as long as Java runs smooth, nothing is pratically changed.

Yeah. When Android info was initially released to the public I had a look through the API and some example code. I don't know if there API is any better than Midp, but I'm all for a Java platform that actually enforces the API in a consistent way, especially when it comes to sound and button support.
Lets hope they are VERY strict about certifying android devices, unlike Sun.
