Rose v20 has passed review. It will be available in the app store within a few hours. It's been nearly a month in review, and several phone calls with apple, but it's finally being released. I hope everyone enjoys this update, as I will be uploading new versions of ALL the flowers next week.

This new version of Rose incorporates ALL of the features of the android versions of the flower games. In fact, you'll be playing with both iPhone and android users in the same game!

New features not in the old iPhone games include...

• Chat
  
• Stars (for extra special items)
  
• Stars exchange (stock market with stars)
  
• Star Item: Super Fertilizer(x5 can combine with normal fertilizer)
  
• Star Item: TIME WARP! Speed up time to grow even faster!
  
• Flag changing to any country
  
• Daily 5050 draw for seeds
  
• Combat (Still needs work, but it's there)
  
• Compete with both iPhone and Android users

Allrighty, so I decided to upload it as an UPDATE to the current version of Origami Rose. I did this because I don't want any of the current gardeners to miss the release. I put in a fairly strong warning that the flower will be reset to 0cm when you update, so I hope people read that before deciding to update.

I am so dissapointed. I mean, really dissapointed. I have been growing my flower for the past 9 months, not like a obssessed freak, but so much so that I water it several times a day, so to learn that I am pressured into resetting the height of my rose really annoys me. Why could you not incorporate the new features and keep the height of the rose? Many people are going to really annoyed, I hope you realise. I wouldn't have bothered updating if it meant a reset. Think of the people who have roses that are 10s of thousands of metres high. Why on earth would they want to reset?

I'm really sorry for my angry tone but you must understand where I'm coming from. I always like to have the latest update but don't want a reset. So I am probably going to stop playing. Why not make some online save feature so we could continue at the height we were at before? Arghhh. The whole point of rose was to move up the rankings and get as height as you like. I am #64. I don't want to lose that.

Again, I'm so sorry. I'm not normally an aggressive person. But come on!!

You have to understand that a lot of the flowers that people have were NOT grown through the normal means(cheaters). Also, the new game works differently. The people playing on the new version have different items, flowers that grow at different rates, and can be watered less often than the old iPhone ones.

I am leaving the old one up for those of you that do not want to update. I am not changing anything for you guys. I understand that you'd like to have the 'latest' version, but these changes needed to be made.

Maybe you guys have some ideas how I can make the old accounts comparable to the new ones?

How about this: Anybody updating from the old flower will get free seeds based on the height of their current flower? So if you had a 20,000cm flower, you'll get 40,000 seeds? How many seeds would it take to appease the crowds? I can still do this for you even if you've already updated as well, so don't worry.

OK. I was a little harsh. I do now appreciate that the update will stop cheaters so in the long run is a useful update.

The seeds idea sounds good although it sounds like hard work for you. Also, the system could be abused since people who have already updated could lie about the previous height of their flower. You could ask people that have not updated to post their height on this forum and you can check their claim against their height on the leaderboard then ask them to change their name to something specific so you know they really are who they say they are. Just an idea.

Just so you know, I have not updated yet. My flower is called claude and it is approaching 10,000cm.

I don't know how many seeds would be satisfactory but I hope you understand my feelings on why it bothers me that I will be back at the bottom with everyone else.

I understand completely. Actually I automated the system to give migrating players the stars automatically. I don't have to trust anyone, but my server will only give the stars to people who's accounts are currently ranked in the v14 or V12 score boards already. It also removes them from the old score board when they update, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Ok. This sounds good. I think I will wait on updating until my rose reaches 10,000cm so I can take a screen shot. (I'm sad like that. Hehe) I will definitely report on what happens when I update. Thanks.

today. My flower's height is 13,484cm.
Do I need to take a screen shot to
prove it, or won't that be necessary?

I just want to go about this the right
way so that I get the near 27,000
seeds that I figure you'll be handing
me.

You should get the *stars* automatically. Stars are more valuable in the game because they are much harder to get, especially for iPhone users. You should be getting about 6742 stars automatically. Let me know if you don't. The only reason you wouldn't is that the server flagged you as bugged and stopped ranking you. You are ranked so that shouldn't be a problem.

Glad you like it! Some people have been rather annoyed by the online requirement. I think all the new features are worth it though.

Despite having lost access to my seeds in v14 due to some bug several months ago, I'm still anxious and hesitant to update. Would those seeds I should have been earning be there when I upgrade? Or are we calling those stars now? And like the user above, I'd hate to see nine months of "hard" work just disappear with the tap of an 'upgrade' button. Is there any way to recover those seeds I lost access to back in June or July? I've gotten to 13,068 cm with very little help from seeds and no cheating whatsoever and I'm a bit of a sentimental fool sometimes, so I guess you can see why I'm still a little hesitant. But again, my main concern is would I have access to seeds again, and would I be compensated for the lost access from a few months ago?

You will get 7,500 stars if you upgrade 'cause your flower is so tall. Those 7,500 stars are worth about 100,000 seeds currently(on the stars exchange). Everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY playing older flower games have lost their seeds over and over again. That's why we need to upgrade to the new version. I don't want to just move the flower heights over to the new system, because everything is changed at least a little including how often you can water, and how fast it grows.

You will get the stars needed to grow your flower right back up to the top.

What type of phone are you using? Iphone people have "Get STARS now!" button on screen at ALL times. Android people have "Earn STARS" on screen.

Sorry, there is no PC version for the flower games. Maybe I will make one in the future however that can be played from facebook.

Hi Mod, i have some question for you here. My origami rose is as tall as 34,514 cm and growing. I currently rank 5 and my rose's version is v14.5, and i have not updated anything. However i can not see my rose's name (as Hope) on the rank list, and i would like to know the heigh of other players rose from 1-4 cuz it seems few months i have not seen the 4th yet. Is there any problem? Thanks you.

Wow, you've been using that version for a long time. If you decide to update to the latest and greatest let me know and I'll fix your flower height if it gets wiped out. I am not sure if the auto-migration still operates.

I have to say that I officially do not support any versions of the game that are not current, and since that one is well over a year old I am going to urge you to update. You'll not be ranked anywhere near 5th though, since people are into the hundreds of millions of cm on the current games.

The scores on the site are all from the current versions. A new update even just came out today too.
