I've played this game many times, paused it and came back to continue where I left off, but there has been 5-6 times that I have had 100+ balls left with scores well in the hundreds of thousands and I come back and have to start all over again is this my phone or a programming error? Thank you

Make sure you use the 'back' button to leave the game. I probably do have a bug where it's not saving the game when the phone kills it in the background. The phone will kill processes in the background when they are left running, which only happens if you leave the game by pressing the home button.
