In a bid to capture the 'falling blocks' gamers, I am going to make a falling block game. So it'll play exactly like tetris, except the longer you play, the taller the playing field will get!
So my vague ide goes like this so far:
1) Start out like a normal tetris game
2) Every 10 lines or so cleared makes the playing field 1/2 screen taller
3) Blocks keep falling while you are not playing! So you must come back and clear out the play area every once in a while, or you will lose!
The blocks will fall slower while you are offline of course, or else it would end really quick.
I still haven't had 'Origami Rose' released on gamejump.com yet, or 'Attack Cannon: Challenge'. I am expecting the 'persistant' style games will keep people playing more, so I am going to make a bunch of smaller games with this in mind. I am enjoying making lots of little games, since it adds variety to my daily coding. Rest assured, I will eventually get back to making full-fledged games. I will also eventually release the 'Box Game', but am waiting until I have some proper hosting for the server.
Maybe Nintendo will eventually let us small-time guys know how to get a hold of WiiWare dev kits, and I can make something for that. If I do get the chance, I think my first project will be a compilation of 2->4 player games, that focus on competitive/coop gameplay. There are too few quick multiplayer experiences for the wii, and I would love to have some FUN quick games to sit down and play. Wii-Play sucks, Rayman sucks, Mario Party takes forever, Monkey Ball sucks, Wario-Ware is only 1 player at a time. I remember many more games on the old Atari-2600 that had quick and fun 2->4 player experiences.
I just feel like ranting. My new 'Attack Stack' game will also have online scoring right from the start.
