Howdy all 1 people out there that read this!
It's been a while since I posted any news, but that's more because I haven't been concentrating on development for the last few weeks. I've got 5 more flower games, and a 'Virtual Rosary' application coming out for the next release period. Unfortunately gamejump.com isn't adding any new games until October, so I'm waiting.
I have been doing some heavy promotion for 'Origami Flower' using wap text ads through adMob. It's working out alright, but since there don't seem to be any major ad campaigns running through greystripe, my payout per player isn't quite enough to cover the costs of the advertising. If some major ad spending happens for the fall through gamejump.com, I'll be able to easily make a profit from spending money advertising, but until then it may just be a waste of time. I'm gonna stop advertising next week if my increase isn't higher than my revenue by then.
I am spending an hour here and there on my next game 'Attack Stack'. Right now it just looks like a tetris clone, but when I'm done it'll be a persistent style game where you increase the size of the playing field as you play, and when you are not playing new lines keep falling to fill it up. So you need to play it a few times a day to keep the game alive, and especially need to clear out the play area before you go to bed, or you'll die over night!
I have to say though, that my tetris clone has the best controls of any free clone I've played to date. Maybe it's a given, since game-play and control is always what I concentrate on. I have a unique little animation when you clear lines that I think adds a little personality. I may release 2 versions: one as a standard tetris clone and the other as the 'persistent' style game. It's always nice to get 2 releases from the same code Of course both will have online scoring right out of the gate.
