Alrighty, I am down to the end of my AC2 development. I have implemented all of the features I originally set out to have, and all that is left is making the gigantic level. Making the level will take a few days probably, but not much more. I am itching to have this game finished and up for download, but don't want to rush it. I have been debating adding an online scoring system similar to the way Attack Brain does it. The only thing I'm worried about, is that my computer won't be able to handle the online server with thousands of people checking it every day. It works fine for Attack Brain, but that game isn't nearly as popular as I expect AC2 to be. I have a feeling that an online leader-board for AC2 may keep people playing after finishing it the first time, which would help bigtime in the ad-revenue. As it stands now, when you finish AC2, you get a nice thank-you message from me, and a "*" in the "START" screen. Each star represents an extra starting level of upgrades to the chopper. Next time you start a game, if you have 3 stars(finished it 3 times already), you'll be pre-equiped with 3 of each upgrade (health, targetting, weapons, artillery). So the more times you finish the game, the more upgrades you start with, wich should give you an edge completing the game quicker, for a better spot on the leaderboard. Any thoughts? If I put in the leaderboard, it'll take about a day's worth of work. I don't have to modify my scores server at all, because I made it auto-upgradable to handle new games. I would probably just go ahead and do it, but I want my game out for next month if possible. Gamejump.com has switched to only releasing games on the first of the month, so if I don't have it ready in a couple days, it won't be released until April If I get a "hell-yeah!" from even one person, I'll do it.

Well, I decided not to rush it out. It sill won't be ready for a little while. I'm about40% finished the level. That may not sound like much, but this game is about 4 times as big as the first, and its all in ONE level.
Once I get the level done, it'll be time to implement the online scoreboard. I've decided to make the game harder every time you finish it. This way you don't just fly through it without dying after you finish it a couple times. I'm thinking I'll remove one or two health powerups each time you finish the game, so that after you've completed it like 10 or 15 times you won't have ANY health powerups to get, and you'll need to get through it without dying. I know, I'm evil.

"hell-yeah!" Smart idea about the online scoreboard and the stars, it actually WILL make people play your game _forever_. Some people are just sooo competitive =)

As a matter of fact the game is DONE!
I have sent it to the advertisers, and now we just have to wait for them to release the game at the start of April. It kinda sucks, but they changed their policy to only reviewing/releasing new games/versions at the start of each month. So expect a new version of Attack Breaker Pro, and Attack Chopper 2 to be available within a few days of April 1.
I could put AC2 up for sale through clickgamer.com, as I currently sell my other games there. Only problem with that site is, I have know idea what phones are compatible with AC2. That site makes you pick all the "compatible" phones out of a huge ugly list of over 1000 phones, with no way of sorting them. I would feel really bad selling AC2 to somebody, only to find that it didn't work on their phone.
Now I'm not saying it's less compatible than AC1, or Attack Breaker Pro. It MAY be less compatible, because it uses a larger save file, and requires more memory. I know 95% of the prople purchasing / downloading games these days are able to handle those without trouble, but I can't be 100% confident about the compatibility until it's been out there for free for a little while.
For example, Attack Breaker Pro has a small bug in the current version that prevents you from moving your paddle. This ONLY happens on super powerful phones, since it's an integer overflow problem related to calculating the paddle accelleration at high framerates. Unfortunately for me, the MOST popular phones out there for playing games are ALL fast enough to experience this problem. I released a fixed version within 2 days of hearing about the problem, but have to wait until April before anybody can get the fix in the ad-supported one. I submitted the patch on March 3rd.
I didn't know about that problem because NOBODY mentioned it in any of the download sites, or here, or e-mailed me. Mobilerated.com 's user reviews section had like 5 or the 6 comments ALL mention the problem, but those posts werent visible on the site until March 1st! ABP should be doing much better once the new build is publicly available, so it kinda ticks me off that I have to wait a full month for the 'OK'.

Sweet... I'm still #2 on time score (Formedras, 3:13:19), even though Duncan's already gotten ** (3:29:39, 4:something on first run). I've got to beat your time, Adam.

Good luck beating me! It should be possible, since I got that time with a little bit of extra running around, if I remember correctly. The thing is, my time got accidentally erased during testing, so I had to guess at my time. I think it's only off by a +/-minute or 2 at most. It gives everybody something to shoot for at the start. I am pretty sure it's actually possible to beat it...

OK, how is it possible for someone to to do this in 1:20? automated bot playing?

Man, I'd be so flattered if somebody actually coded a bot to play AC2! You have to assume that after playing through the game 13 times(from his %), he must know where everything is by now. Also, you have a crapload of Arty shells by then.

I'm on my 10th time through (947%), and my best time is still 3 hour plus. after 1:30 I am only up to napalm alley. Yeah I have discovered a few shortcuts - but to cut my time by over 1/2 would take some major shift in skill / knowledge.
