Maybe forced ten hours? I sleep a lot on the weekends, lol. Also, bug related, I have full service and full WI-FI in my room, but as of a few hours ago, when I open the app, I'm automatically "(unranked)". That usually only happens when I don't have any service or Internet, and it usually takes about thirty seconds before it "realizes" that. Sorry if this message is confusing, I just want to know why I'm being unranked even when I clearly have the service and Internet connection to be ranked. Thanks!! Jenna

I have closed the game and opened it numerous times since it started, mostly to water, but it is still happening.

Sorry it's a bit confusing. You get 'unranked' when one of several things happens. 1) The connection timed out before getting the response from my server. *Most likely what's happening* A million different things can cause this. Especially if you share your wifi with PC's that eat the bandwidth. Try turning off bittorrent. 2) The score got corrupted during transmission over the net to/from the web server 3) The web server is down. (it's up) 4) Your userId has been banned for cheating. There are only like 3 people at the moment. It's kinda just a catch all. If you ever want to know if the web server is down, just hit the website at 00adam.com/iphone.jsp . That's running on the same machine. The web server is located in Vancouver, Canada. That's on the west coast of North America, so it's a long distance ping from anywhere in Europe, UK, Africa, Middle East, etc.

Maybe your flower was flagged as invalid for growing magically too fast. I'll try to have all those bugs fixed in the next release if I can. If your score was flagged, I'm sorry. It's not permanent, just for a week, or until I update the game.

There is a night/day. When you "call the sun", it only lasts 12 hours. For the first 12 hours of nighttime, your flower does not shrink at all. After the first 12 hours, it starts to shrink, and will eventually die.
So what you need to do, is only call the sun when you will be able to water several times in the following 12 hours. Most people will only click the "call the sun" button in the morning.
I hope that helps!

Hi, I've had my flower for a while now, it was just over 200 cm before I had dinner, when I checked on it again it was completely restarted. Same display name, but I'm ranked #3000 something, and at 0 cm. Is this because of the update thing mentioned on the page, or a glitch or something? My friend doesn't have the same problem, and we kind of started together. He's suggesting it wilted, but I dunno. xD I'm completely freaking out right now, so yeah. :T
Also, what does it mean when my screen name changes to 'Don't Time Travel' or something like that? For the record, I didn't cheat or change the time or anything.

"don't time travel" happens only when your clock gets set backwards in time between watering.
So what happened is that for some reason the clock on your iPod/iPhone got moved ahead by several days, which killed your flower the next time you played. Then the clock got set back to normal time and you got the "don't time travel" message.
Maybe somebody screwed with your clock/date, or maybe your battery ran out and it got reset. Either way, your clock definitely got changed. Some people mentioned that their clocks got fiddled every time they connected to their PC, so maybe that's what happened. Maybe your clock got auto set improperly by your network (phone/wifi).

Oh, that was just a side question, 'cause I got the don't time travel message a few days ago, it shrank a little, that's all. But my rose disappeared just a while ago.
It was fine this morning and everything, I watered it before I went to dinner and when I got back it was back to 0 cm. Dinner wasn't that long, I'm pretty sure then can't shrink 200 cm in an hour. xD

That's strange, because the ban lists have been reset several times since then. What is your name in the flower games? I don't see your name in the list of banned users. It could be that your phone provider is simply blocking the server access for some reason. Problems like that would happen on the Java phones sometimes.
Do you use wifi, 3G, edge etc?

I use either wifi or edge, depends on where I am. My name in the game is "JayQue + Rosebud Was A Sled". I use AT & T.

If you were talking to me, I change my name frequently, whenever I feel like it. x) The latest was 'Karens awesome flower', I should still be on the list, but I'm ranked #4974. :/ Used to be #500 something. And I use Wi-Fi, but I don't use iPhone, I got the app on my iPod Touch.

My clock on my iPod Touch just moved back to Nov 08 when I connected it to my PC. My Origami Orchid was number 17 for days before this happened and now it is in the Ground! I have powered my iPod Touch this way while running the Origami Orchid app for over a month and never had this happen. Sounds like a bug with the app or the ban program. I also have the Rose and it was number 66 but now it is going berserk. It is moving so fast I can't tell if it is going up or down. The height has about 7 digits in front of the decimal point is flying by in numbers. Adam any way to get us back to where we were?

All, can not explain it but after my clock on my iPod Touch moved back in time after connecting to my PC, as I have done many other times and until today it never happened I tried some experiments. Adam forget about the comment above about it could be the app or ban code you have. As I unplugged and corrected the time and date then plugged back up the PC and "TA-DA", it changed again. Can't explain any more than that but I repeated the process a couple of times and it keeps doing it. My wife has a iPod Touch running the Origami Rose, Orchid and Daffy and so far hers is doing fine connected to her PC. We have both been running the apps and using our PCs to power up the iPod's for over a month and no problems. Don't know? So here I sit with a dead Orchid that was number 17. Oh well it was free fun while it lasted.

Yeah, I've had a few people post about how their clocks are being changed by the PC when they connect. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that. The only way to know how much to make the flower grow is by checking the clock. If your clock gets set to a wacky value, it'll confuse the flowers.
If your flower started growing ultra fast after setting the clock back, then it's probably an older version of Rose. I don't think any of the new ones will do that, though I could be wrong. I have a v8 coming out soon that I hope is more immune to those types of issues.
When a user gets 'banned' by the server, all it does is remove that person from the online scoreboard. There is no change to the actual game.

Using the itouch, I wish I could see who's below me...as in, who's arse I've just beaten lol...also maybe a change in some scenery as the flower blooms to keep it from getting boring, that would be cool...still, why is this soooo addicting?! lol!

Why did I loose all of my growth after I did the update to v6? I had been growing my rose for over six weeks and had woken many times during many nights to water my rose to get the maximum growth. I am very sad :-(

heyyy, just a quick suggestion I had. So, i got a flower ranked when i started to get the whole "plug into your computer and the clock resets" problem, killing it off. I pretty much lost hope of getting it back looking at the Daffodil scores now. So anyway, i'm sure you've heard of it, but my suggestion is this. BEFORE you calculate how much your flower has grown, check the clock, and if it's behind the previous time, ask the user if they are sure they want to continue/if the time is correct to avoid another flower sharing a similar fate as mine. (it's happened to my daffodil 3 times, and my other 3 flowers just now...and they were all about 400 almost 500 cm T.T)
Also another thing i've noticed, the thing says if you don't call the sun for 24+ hours it will wilt, but i've noticed all flowers but the Daffodil wilting after 12 hours of night time, and even growing if i water them =/
anyway, just wanted to give my 2 cents, love the apps, keep up the good work ^^

The flower does not die when the time goes backwards. All I do is change your name to 'please don't time travel', and make the flower not grow. The flower dies because you set the clock forward for one reason or another. There is absolutely no way to detect if the clock has been set forward. Unfortunately, after setting the clock backwards, you'll be likely to set it forward eventually.
Sorry guys, but there is nothing I can do about it. If the phone thinks it's been 4 days since you last played, then it's gonna try to grow for 4 days and die. I have no control over that.
The ONLY possible solution is to NEVER make the flower grow unless it asks my server what time it is first. The problem here is that you'll never be able to play unless you have network access.
